Born in Wilmington, North Carolina, February 7, 1941. Crisfield High School; Baltimore Institute. Project Director, Somerset County Community Action Agency, 1966-76. Executive director, Somerset County Maritime and Industrial Committee, 1976-78. Partner and chair, Landmark Insurance, 1979-. Board of Directors, Lower Shore Sheltered Workshop, 1971-78 (president, 1976-77); J. Millard Tawes Foundation, 1980-; United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore, 1986- (campaign chair, Somerset County, 1989; vice-president for Somerset County, 1990). Chair, Committee to Build Somerset County Public Golf Course, 1989-. Member, Lower Eastern Shore Mayors' Association; Crisfield Area Chamber of Commerce; Salisbury State University Foundation; Tangier Sound Music Festival.
