LEGAL HOLIDAYS


Legal holidays include each statewide general election day, and each other day that the President of the United States or the Governor designates for general cessation of business. If a holiday falls on a Sunday, it is observed the following Monday. Effective July 1, 1997, the following holidays will be observed:

January 1 New Year's Day
January 15* Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.'s Birthday
February-third Monday Presidents' Day
May 30 Memorial Day*
July 4 Independence Day
September-first Monday Labor Day
October 12 Columbus Day*
November 11 Veterans' Day
November-fourth Thursday Thanksgiving Day
December 25 Christmas Day
